Frontpage      Workshop

This page pulls together information about arrangements for the OPITE Workshop

Venue:

Centrum e-Learningu AGH (Centre for e-learning)

30 a Czarnowiejska street , Kraków
ground floor, room 2

Getting to the hotel from the airport:

It should take you about 30-45 minutes by taxi to get to the Logos hotel. The taxi should not be more than 100 zloty (less than 20 Euro but you can only pay in zloty and in most cases you won't be able to pay by card in taxis).

Exchanging money

The exchange rate at the airport isn't so great so if you want to exchange some more money I'd recommend doing it once you get to the city centre; there are plenty of exchange points in the Old Town with pretty much comparable rates (look for a sign which says "Exchange" or "Kantor").

Accommodation:

Hotel Logos, 5 Szujskiego Street - the hotel is now booked and paid for, breakfast is included and there is decent wi-fi.  It is about 10 minutes walk to the Centre for Elearning and 5 minutes to the Old Town.

Eating and going out:

12.12 3 pm. Wednesday: pastries and cakes on arrival; 6 pm meeting at the lobby, walk and 7 pm. dinner at Zazie Bistro at 34 Jozefa Street (Kazimierz) with a drink;

13.12 Thursday: lunch (sandwiches, muffins); dinner at 7 pm. a restaurant in the Old Town with a drink at MammaMia Trattoria at Karmelicka 14;

14.12 Friday: farewell cakes;

Currency

Polish Zloty (PLN). 1€ = ~4 PLN. You can't pay in Euros. Exchange offices are numerous on the

airport and in the city centre, cash machines and banks easily availiable, credit cards accepted in

most pubs, restaurants, shops, stations etc.

Two main areas of interest in Krakow are:

Castle is a real reneissance beauty, tickets need to be booked in advance; underground museum of

medieval city under the Main Square (ticket bought in advance).

2. Kazimierz - old Jewish quarter, to the south of Old Town, around 10 mins walk.

You may also be interested in visiting Nowa Huta - a "perfect communist city", built after WW2,

curently on Unesco list. Not recommended without a guide. See e.g. this agency.
